Introduction The moment my crayon-grasping toddler fingers first made contact with paper, I embarked on a life-long journey exploring the arts & crafts. It started with sketching, painting, illustrating childhood writing, designing and sewing my own clothes and experiments with cooking through school, college and grad school. Nearly a decade later, I am a statistician's wife, the mother of two lovely girls and a homeowner in New Zealand. Our travels have allowed me to explore and learn about traditional and modern arts & crafts from different parts of the world. With my children, I have tried my hand at jewelry making, stamping, printing, paper crafting, textile art, nature crafts and more. Our first home has been an exciting canvas for creativity, inspiring many home decorating projects, past, present and future. Some unexpected turns in life have given me the opportunity to turn a hobby and enduring passion into a career. Today I teach arts & crafts classes and have started a home-based crafts business, Jambalaya Handmade Crafts. I've started this blog to share my Intrepid Crafting journey. I hope that my stories inspire you to try something new.
