Introduction Investigative reporter R.J. Shulman began his career as a reporter on the Biscayne Biscuit, the newspaper mimeographed by the Biscayne Elementary School in Miami Beach, Florida. He was fired for sniffing the mimeograph fluid and for reporting that Principal Harold Smelter had been abusing his power by using extreme methods to intimidate students sent to his office. Mr. Shulman’s career at the Ithacan, the Ithaca (N.Y.) College paper was cut short when he was fired for writing a story saying that President Nixon was abusing power by spying on his political enemies. Since that time Mr. Shulman has been fired from thirteen newspapers including the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Chicago Sun-Times and The St. Louis Post-Dispatch. In an attempt to continue his media career, he tried his hand at radio. However, shortly after he began work at various stations, in Chicago, New York and Albuquerque, each either lost its license or was heavily fined by the FCC. Needless to say, his radio career came to a screeching halt. He is currently under psychiatric observation and has been diagnosed as suffering from an a chronic case of having trouble with authority.
