| Introduction | The Sea Hawk is a story of a 1968 Morgan 30 foot sailboat and its complete restoration and journey as we travel the waters of the world. The initial restoration started in the summer 2005 and completed the summer 2008. We are the third owners. The boat was originally purchased by a person in Michigan and sailed for some years until he stored the boat on land for seven plus years under cover. Two gentleman in 1995 purchased the boat and repainted it. An Edson helm was installed; converting from tiller to wheel. The boat at this point had never seen salt water. We purchased the boat in 2000 and sailed it on Lake Superior until the summer of 2005 at which time we started to restore the entire boat. The years before restoration allowed us to understand if the boat was worth a restoration. After the restoration we recommissioned the boat in the summer 2008. At this point, the boat has seen water twice - sailing season 2008 and 2012. |
