| Introduction | If you have happened to stumble across my Blog, or if you have been directed here by a search engine or Twitter post, perhaps I should explain what the Blog is about. I was one of the very last Brewers at Davenports Brewery in Birmingham before it was closed following a take over by Greenall Whitley. At the time of closure, I had moved from being a production brewer and was working as the Trade Services Manager. This meant I was in charge of Technical Services and in trade Quality Control and training.This meant I had work for a few years after the Brewery was closed as a production unit and I had an office in the front building of Davenports. Whilst I was based there, the Brewery building was gutted as was the old bottling plant. Before I left the building permanently, I found a number of old photographs and documents relating to the history of the company. These have been in my garage and loft for several years doing nothing useful. With the advent of Blogging, i thought others might be interested in seeing what I have, so here we go. At present I am a complete Blog Novice, so I apologise if the whole thing is a bit amateurish, but here we go. |
