| Introduction | Russell Soper aka The One Russtafari is mostly known as a Canadian ragga‐jungle DJ/Producer. However, his styles vary from hip‐hop, funk, breaks, & mash‐up with a touch of turntabilisim. Russtafari’s music projects have included playing with a nine piece funk band called “Margarita’s Calling” as well as performing many party rocking sets all over Atlantic Canada including Snow Jam as well as showcasing at the Junos. From there he moved on to Toronto and partnered up with Tallman to form Dreaded Youths. Dreaded Youths had two international releases on Cook N’ Curry Records under the Jungle X banner. These releases didn’t take long to sell out through markets such as Canada, England, Eastern Europe as well as Japan. While Russtafari’s passion is deeply rooted in the ragga‐jungle genre he went on to team up with DJ Evo to form RudeBwoy SoundSystem. RudeBwoy SoundSystem is an umbrella for both artists to operate under. It is a label to showcase many genres of music weather it be hiphop, funk, breaks, mash ups, ragga or drum & bass. Aside from a label it represents their diverse dj styles that have rocked dance floors all across Canada. |
