In 2022 the club returned yet again to the English Premier League under manager Marco Silva, after some years of yo-yoing between the top two tiers. By contrast, Enfield Town FC is one of London's newer teams in the top 6 flights of English football. 100% owned by its fans, it's a 'phoenix'; club, built from the ashes of Enfield FC in 2001, after that club's chairman sold their ground lease in a shady deal with shady landowner, Enfield Council. A moment of brief, non-league football infamy! ETFC were promoted to tier 7 of English Football's pyramid, in the 2011-12 season - my first year of going along. And rose to Tier 6 at the end of the 2023-'24 season. I've been a Fulham fan for almost 50 years, ever since the days of Moore, Best and Marsh; mostly following them in the lower divisions - and almost into extinction, in the late-1980's.I have also now followed my local non-league side, Enfield Town, for 11 years; since their move to a new home ground, near my house. |
