| Introduction | Taking a break from my practice in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, currently I have been pursuing my PhD in law and governance in Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Earlier I did my graduation and masters in law from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and M Phil from the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. I am specializing on rural justice in Bangladesh. Recently I have completed a research on Access to Justice through State-led Rural Justice system in Bangladesh. Since August 2009, I have been engaged in a participatory action research project to examine whether and how common people themselves can play a role in reduction of vulnerabilities to injustice, and in enhancing access to justice through State-led justice system. The project’s activities can be found at Bangladesh Rural Justice Initiative’s website. At present I am preparing myself to start a legal ethnographic study of a Family Court in Bangladesh. The objective is to explore the family law, the vulnerability to injustice, and the state of access to family justice in Bangladesh. |
