About me

Gender Female
Location Gulfport, MS
Introduction I am the mother of five fantastic kids, Adam, Natalie, Steven, Michelle, and Nathan. My husband, Bryan, is a dentist and dad-extraordinaire. When our late-in-life surprise baby, Nathan, was born, we discovered he had Scimitar Syndrome, a rare heart condition that required complex open heart surgery. As we searched for a willing-and-able pediatric heart surgeon, an assortment of coinciding trials rocked our world. I often found myself shaking my head (and shaking in my boots) saying, “I could write a book…” I maintain a congenital heart defects website, Nathan's Prayer, that offers information, support, and some of my favorite Nathan stories.
Interests I enjoy reading, baking, spending time with family, scrapbooking, and writing. I am also a fan of sushi, pound puppies (the real ones), African violets, and music from the 70s.
Favorite Books So many great books. Here are a few that have been inspiring entertaining or instructional to me., Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore, French by Heart by Rebecca S. Ramsey, The Shack by Wm. Paul Young, Walk on Water by Michael Ruhlman, Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, The Help by Kathryn Stockett
