| Introduction | After completing undergrad education and working as an Actor/Instructor for one of the oldest community theatres in the country, Theatre Memphis, I chose to make Chicago my new home for performance and artistic development. Living in Uptown for three years has allowed me to witness the neighborhood grow through a very short window of time. Uptown Variety Live, hosted by The Kinetic Playground at 1113 W Lawrence, is my newest contribution to the area. While being an outlet for local artists, musicians, actors, poets to promote their upcoming shows and projects, the venue also offers a mingling night for the neighborhood featuring an array of entertainment.
