| Introduction | The idea of riding a bicycle all the way across Canada is something that has had a strange attraction for some time. Whilst I don't have a 'bucket list', as such, this is a goal I have had for a while now. My brief time in South Africa with Hands at Work inspired me to include raising awareness of the awesome work they are doing in some of the most vulnerable communities in southern Africa, as part of the trip. The challenges associated with riding a bike 6 or 7 thousand kilometres across Canada seem to pale into insignificance by comparison. If, through this ride, we can make one person more aware of the difference they can make for others, it will be time well spent. |
