| Introduction | Hello, friends, I'm so happy we're going to be here together. I am a little bit terrified, but like the Fool in the Tarot, I cannot make the journey I am being called to without stepping out. I am working harder on memoir stuff than I am on my poems just now, but I suspect that may shift around a bit as we spend some time together. I am a white, queer, fat, femme with mental health and physical disabilities. I went to Wesley Theological Seminary in DC, and All Souls DC is the home church of my heart, though I reside in Portland, OR and am affiliated with West Hills UU Fellowship. I am originally from the ridge-and-valley region of central Pennsylvania, and I love the forest. I also love the Pacific coast, only 90 minutes away from where I live now. The rocky, seemingly unforgiving cliffs and the waves throwing themselves against them again and again make me very happy. I am married to a delightful woman -- we just celebrated our 18th kissaversary :-) -- and we also have two cats. One, Madeleine, is an elder statescat at 19. The other, Maia, is in her feisty middle years at 10. I'm so delighted this group is happening! |
