| Introduction | Retired accountant, small aircraft pilot, author, photographer, prospector, teacher. I was an odd child. I am still an odd child. I love things that aren't what they seem, people with grand aspirations, drooling dogs and gray rainy days...whitewashed country churches, window seats, the smell of old books, and riding in cars... My favorite day is the first day of fall...that cool rush of wind, the whisper of dry leaves, the prickly feeling that something is waiting around the next corner. I think more people fall in love in autumn, under the cold October stars... I believe in the power of hope as an agent for change. Since when did wishing for things go out of style?
