Introduction	I've lived in VA for about 20 years. I have two daughters and one grandson, with a granddaughter on the way. I learned to love nature and animals from my mom, Barrie Meller, and grandmother, Anne Shore Gaines. Karen and I are having so much fun working with wildlife in need and hope that you are enjoying our adventures!

Favorite books	So many books, so little room! Half the Sky (most influential book I've ever read), the whole crime novel genre, and of course, the books I love to shared with my students: The Hobbit, Watership Down, all Roald Dahl, Heidi, Swiss Family Robinson, The Phantom Tollbooth, Harry Potter, The Long Winter...
