| Introduction | I have been hooked on parrot behavior and training since taking classes taught by Dr. Susan Friedman, Barbara Heidenreich, and Steve Martin. Visits to the Indonesian and Amazonian rain forests have given me a richer understanding of the behavior of companion parrots as well as providing amazing subjects for some of my photographs which have been published in BirdTalk, Parrots Magazine, and PsittaScene. I'm working on taking better photographs of my African grey, Boston, in flight. My African grey, Boston, is an outdoor flyer (10 yrs) and gardens with me... mostly by throwing my tools around and eating (or destroying) the fruits of my labor. I'm a former board member of the Redmond Garden Club but you wouldn't know it by looking at my currently unkempt garden! Much of my gardening time has been taken away by my interest in the environment which all started when I went on an eco-tour offered by the Indonesian Parrot Project which I am now serving as a member of the board. |
