| Introduction | Kristin Duquette is 2013 graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT with a BA in Human Rights. Among Kristin’s attributes is the disability she has been bestowed- Muscular Dystrophy. With perseverance and determination, Kristin became a world class swimming athlete, represented the United States at international meets in Bogota, Colombia, served as U.S. Swim Team Captain in 2010 at the Greek Open, is a 5x American Paralympic record holder and 1st in the country and 15th in the world for the 50 yard freestyle. In addition, Kristin founded "A Day in a Wheelchair Project" at Trinity College, promoting disability rights as human rights. Earlier this year, she attended the 2013 Clinton Global Initiative University. Kristin will be attending the United Nations’ State Parties Conference on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities this summer as she pursues a career in disability rights. |
