Introduction	I've lived all over North America: California, North Carolina, Quebec, and Vermont. The last of these is where I call home. I like to travel throughout the northeast, especially those areas that pique my interest in history, like Revolutionary War and Civil War battle sites and Washington, DC. I am a Type 1 Diabetic. Which do you prefer and why: whittling with soap or whistling with wood?

Soap is quicker. You can even whittle a small gun (see The Killer Joke). But wood is more permanent. I don't whittle with either, so it is academic.
