Introduction is a visual arts teacher and youth development worker. Growing up in St. Louis Missouri, Elgin discovered a passion for art in elementary school while drawing his favorite cartoon characters on his homework. With encouragement from his 6th grade teacher, Elgin moved on to comic books and public murals. He then attended Central Visual and Performing Arts High School where he studied visual arts, ceramics, and piano. In 2009, Elgin received a BFA in Graphic Illustration and Sculpture. Elgin began work as an artist assistant for Chicago ceramic artist and Whitney Bi-Annual artist-in-residence Theaster Gates. In addition to his work with Free Write, Elgin teaches visual arts teacher at the Gary Comer Youth Center.
Interests Growing as an Artist and a person.
Favorite Movies SO many I'm kinda a movie buff. but as of now I love Black Movies -Black Dynamite, School Dayz, I'm Gonna get you sucka, X (spike Lee), Harlem Nights Martial Arts Films, - Enter the Dragon, Fist of Fury shit anything Bruce Lee, Ong Bak and protector, IP Man Ooo god if u have not seen that movie, Fearless Anime- GOLDEN BOY!!!, GTO!!!, Ranma 1/2, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Afro Samurai, Ninja Scroll, the list goes on. Korean movies, - Tae Guk Gi, Friend, My Sassy girl I really could go on but this would take way to long hahaha
Favorite Music This list would be just as long when it come to movies. So umm... I like all types of music from electronic to RnB.
Favorite Books I'm more of a comic Book person but the series I'm into right now is the New Batman reborn series and the street fighter series cause I'm a huge fan of the game. Ill call anyone out in Streetfirghter Win or lose. And Alvin lee is A sick artist.
