| Introduction | We fell in love with the concept of individual and self sufficient travelling, invested in our own vehicle and started touring our neighboring countries extensively over the next few years. We both have an un-satisfiable interest in Africa; it’s wildlife, people and cultures. So much so that the decision to spend a year crossing the continent by 4 x 4 was the logical next step for us. Over the last 10 months we have directed all out attention and recourses to preparing ourselves and a newer vehicle for just such a trip with the aim to set of towards the end of April in 2010. The simple reason for the time frame is to try and avoid the wettest seasons on our route to enable us to get to the majority of places possible. The countries we intend on visiting are: Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt, Libya and Tunisia. We intend on camping exclusively unless unavoidable and do as many of the activities we can manage. |
