Introduction Frederick Smith is a first-year MBA student focused in Entrepreneurship and Finance. He is currently interning as a Business Development Intern in the Hawaiian Islands on behalf of Phycal, Inc., an algae and cellulose biofuel company based in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to his MBA experience, Frederick was the Executive Director of the Environmental Action Committee of West Marin from 2007-2010, a wildlife advocacy organization based in Point Reyes Station, CA (www.eacmarin.org). Frederick grew up in New York City. He completed his B.A. in History at Denison University in 1995 and acquired a Wilderness EMT certification soon thereafter. He went on to employment in a range of seasonal positions in the office and the field for Outward Bound and other outdoor environmental/outdoor education organizations. He landed in Missoula, Montana and completed a M.S. in Environmental Studies, focused on land use planning and natural resource management, from the University of Montana in 2003. After that, he worked in environmental advocacy in Montana, Wyoming and California.
