About me

Introduction I believe that learning to cook and teaching others to cook, like baseball, can repair our losses and be a blessing to us. And I'm not just saying that. For more than nine truly lovely years, I worked at the New Yorker magazine, where I was an arts editor; I covered theatre and wrote and edited Tables for Two. I worked as a features and food reporter at the Chicago Tribune for six years, the first years as a dining columnist; the last as a food reporter in Good Eating. My writing has also appeared in Food and Wine, Vogue, Men's Vogue, Details, Elle, and Departures. I cook a lot for David and Saunders and Mabel the Dog. The pattern on the spoon is Grand Baroque.
