Carol Shields: The Stone Diaries, Unless, Barbara Kingsolver: The Poisonwood Bible, Pigs in Heaven, The Bean Trees, Flight Behaviour. Non Canadian authors - The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen, Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche, The shadow of the wind by Carlos Lois Zafon A book I read recently that really made an impact on me was Meditation in Action by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Also a most beautiful but sad tale - Sophie's Choice by William Styron. And the very best - Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez - Wow!!! |
