| Introduction | Trevor Bentley was educated at the universities of Auckland and Waikato, and has a special interest in researching, writing and teaching about the interaction of Maori and Pakeha in pre-Treaty New Zealand. He is the author of four books: Pakeha Maori (1999), Captured by Maori (2004), Cannibal Jack (2008) and Tribal Guns and Tribal Gunners (2013). An inveterate traveller and long term member of the New Zealand Military History Society, Dr. Bentley lives in Papamoa with his wife Helen. |
