| Interests | Lisa Elbertsen has been living in beautiful Squamish, BC since 2003. She has been doing pottery for 7 years but only became very serious about it in September 2006 when the opportunity to develop her skills through Clayworks Pottery Studio in Valleycliffe (Squamish, BC) came up. Up until September 2006, Lisa has only done some hand-building but always had the burning desire to learn how to throw on the wheel. In October and November of 2006, Lisa took both the Fundamentals Pottery course as well as the Beginners Wheel Course through Clayworks Pottery Studio in Valleycliffe (Squamish, BC). Kay Austen is a great teacher and a huge inspiration which helped get Lisa on her way on the wheel. Since September Lisa has fully immersed herself in pottery and her work continues to improve by leaps and bounds in a short period of time. She has set up her own studio in her garage at her home in Valleycliffe. Lisa has recently acquired her wheel, kiln and is making and experimenting with her own glazes. She is very excited to continue to grow and learn now that she has the space, tools and experience to get her there. We are excited to see her progress in the years to come. |
