| Introduction | I have officially abandoned my current life in Jersey City (the "quit my job, give up my apartment, sell my car" sort of abandonment) and am going to give life as a nomadic Australian a try... more commonly known as backpacking. I'll be leaving August 6 and will spend 8 of the first 11 weeks volunteering with an environmental agency in the outback, at the Great Barrier Reef, and on the Gold Coast. I'll spend the next 5 weeks making my way from Brisbane to Sydney, perhaps with a stint in agricultural work, before taking a 2 week detour to New Zealand in late November. I will make my way to Melbourne by December 1st where I hope to find a sublet and some sort of income. I am scheduled to return April 1st 2009. If you think you might want to share in a leg of my adventure, (and there are enough legs for an octopus) it's not too late! |
