About me

Introduction I am lucky enough to be the Reserve manager of the Isle of May National Nature Reserve. This island lies in the Firth of Forth on the east coast of Scotland and it is a very special place. It has a long human history being a lighthouse island and a focus of Christian pilgrimages. And it is also a special wildlife site surrounded by a rich marine habitat, a stopping off point for migrant birds, a birth place for 2000 grey seals pups annually and a summer home for nearly 1/4 million seabirds. With this blog I aim, with the help of others to try to keep people up to date with what is happening on the Isle of May for the wildlife, the people who study it and the visitors. For more information about the Isle of May go the www.nnr-scotland.org.uk or search Facebook for Scotland's National Nature Reserves.
