About me

Location Boulder, Colorado, United States
Introduction kristen@papercutspress.com. Kristen Law Lewis was bit by the book-bug during the last semester of her undergrad studies, while earning a BA in Studio Art at CU Boulder. Shortly thereafter she began production work, creating a line of hand-bound books, which she sold in galleries throughout Colorado for many years under the name Papercuts Press. Since then, she has pursued a love of objects and history, earning a Museum Studies degree. Currently she mixes her time between museum collections care, sculpture, and bookmaking. Her artwork reflects a study of nature, melding scientific and spiritual habits like collecting, while fostering a strong love for paper, books, and maps. “One of my favorite things about bookmaking is: the definition of a "book"can be broad, and the scope of possibilities and creativity really is limitless. One of my favorite things about teaching bookmaking is: continually observing how each individual incorporates book technique into their own creative lifestyle.”
