| Introduction | I was born in a small town in Idaho when people left their doors unlocked and let their children play outside all day without fear. I've earned a living repairing all manner of things, writing poetry and advertising, painting walls and portraits. I've owned a restaurant and a catering company, and made a buck doing probably two dozen other things I scarcely remember. I've been around. I've lived by my grit and my wits. I have the time in my creeping decrepitude to reflect on the past, comment on the present and make a suggestion or two about the future. |
