Favorite music	All kinds of music is good if it's done well, but here are a couple things that stand out: Quicksilver Messenger Service (John Cipollina on guitar), Bob Dylan (duh!), Jeff Buckley, Santana at Woodstock, Jethro Tull at the Isle of Wight, Brian Wilson (SMiLE), the Jars of Clay album of hymns, Emmylou Harris at the Ryman, J.S. Bach, Rachmaninoff, Vivaldi (not opera), early Chuck Mangione, Coldplay, Joanna Newsom (Y's), Neil Young doing Cinnamon Girl" / Buffalo Springfield (be selective), Nickel Creek, Goose Creek Symphony (who?), the Les Mis soundtrack WITH GARY MORRIS.
Favorite books	Bible, Jane Howatch C of E series (especially Glamorous Powers and Glittering Images), The Forgotten Ways (Alan Hirsch), biographies of just about anyone interesting, Shelby Foote on the Civil War, Dorothy Sayers, Mark Twain, Leonard Cohen poetry.
