| Introduction | BESO is a non-partisan and non-religious organization focused on a holistic approach to community development. Our vision is to foster rural communities where women and children experience improved livelihoods through economic and educational empowerment. BESO accomplishes this vision through the implementation of our Family Centered Approach. The first aspect of the Family Centered Approach is to provide formal and vocational education to empower young persons with skills that enable them to be contributing members of their communities. This is coupled with household agricultural and business trainings that are designed to create economically productive communities. As a result, families are better able to keep children in school, ensure food security and achieve higher standards of living. Currently we provide free primary education to over 250 rural under-served children at BESO Junior School, and empower 100 families with agricultural initiatives in Wanteete. |
