| Introduction | I am a 35 yr. old SAHM to 2 boys and have been happily married 17 years to the LOVE of my life. We started our lil homestead on 3.5 acres out in the country in June of 2009. We are lovin our life out here in the country hence the name for my blog... We have been raising chickens and a pot belly pig since we moved out here, I would like to eventually be tending to goats,a horse or 2,and I would love to have a donkey(really!)...We have also enjoyed some gardening, something very new to us...our 1st garden was in 2010 and it didnt come in very well, but as I have been reading a researching the 1st couple of years is the hardest. I wont be going over board this year with planting so much, we will just do okra, cucumbers, tomatoes, and some sunflowers...I have also learned to can/preserve these past couple of years and find it very rewarding. I hope that we get lots of tomatoes this year, I havent canned them before and cant wait to try it...Hope you enjoy your visit to our blog this is just a place for sharing ideas, recipes and experiences with new friends with the same interests. |
