| Introduction | Not easy to describe myself - basically an introvert yet I like to talk to strangers. I do love my solitude. I am a registered nurse working in a major metropolitan hospital for nearly four decades (caring for pregnant women). Yet I've become skeptical of modern medicine and now lean towards the holistic. I can spend hours perusing medical studies - though the more I read, the less I know for sure. (Disclaimer: please don't take anything I write on this subject as "the absolute truth". It doesn't exist.) I am frugal by nature but will spend a lot on something I deem worthwhile. I sympathize with the underdog. I have been with Mr Nankie since 1978 (!) and still really enjoy his company...though he can push my buttons. We have a wonderful grown daughter that I would do anything for - no ambivalence there. I am conscientious and take my obligations seriously, but I am also a terrible procrastinator. I will write mostly about health & nutrition, life in Los Angeles, the nursing profession, travel, curly hair and other random things that interest me....when I get around to it. |
