| Introduction | I'm a happily married guy for 30 years! Donna Lou is my best friend, confidant, soul mate. My favorite place is to be across the table from her talking and looking into her BIG BEAUTIFUL GREEN Eyes wishing I could run my fingers through that red hair of hers! We have three beautiful children. Ben, Hanna, Emily. Triplets that God created for us. I learned to sew sitting at my grandmothers knee. She made some of the most beautiful quilts. I would sit and watch her for hours and hours. I got the honor of threading her needles. A big honor for a little boy!!! She taught me how to gauge stitches, pull knots through the back of fabric to hide them. I learned how to measure colors, not to do too much matching, but to let the colors flow. Patterns to match patterns. Solids to help strengthen the design. She was an artist, but she had to quilt back in the 30's to help supplement her families income. I'm glad I got to learn from her. It was and honor and an act of love that she let me watch. I miss her. |
