| Interests | I started as a new nurse in 2003 on a Med-Surg unit. This Med-Surg Unit was actually a huge umbrella which included caring for Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Ortho, and Remote Telemetry patients. This afforded me a broad knowledge base and has proved invaluable. I also worked at a local inpatient Hospice for two and half years and enjoyed greatly serving that portion of the population. ...did a short stint in Labor and Delivery and although I loved the couplet part of it...just wasn't a match for the L&D portion. A part time home health position I held was interesting but I don't care for driving that much! I do love freelance writing as well as research and school. I will graduate with my BSN in December,2008. My latest hobbies are learning how to write grants (I'm taking a class in August along with my other classes) and working on a media campaign for my DWI Strategic Taskforce Committee. I also recently joined the Asthma Coalition in my county. I plan to apply to Graduate School this Fall. |
