Introduction | Matthew J. Forss--BA, MS, MFA. He is a true Willis & Geiger clothing collector and aficionado--ever since his first taste of the brand back in 1998 with the purchase of Bush Poplin shirt/shorts, the Zebra Felt Hat, and Hemingway Jacket. Since 1998, he has collected numerous musical instruments and CDs from around the world. He has published world music articles and reviews in Songlines, Immigrant Magazine, Ethnomusicology, and Verge Travel Magazine. In addition, he has published numerous music book reviews and forthcoming essays on world music for reference books with Facts on File, Oxford University Press, Greenwood Press, and Golson Media. He also works for ReviewYou.com. Currently, he has collected over 4,500 CDs/LPs that represent over 180 different countries. His general interests include ethnomusicology journalism and researching the traditional/contemporary ethnic music of various cultures from around the world. In November of 2000, he accepted the position of writing World Music CD reviews for the host site, Inside World Music, and this blog in 2008. |
