| Introduction | I’m Lilith a performance poet.I am a part of an organization called the A.I.M The Anti-Injustice Movemenent a global movement of activists, political emcees and protest poets who are confronting via non-violent and creative means injustices perpetrated by corrupt governments, political and fundamentalist factions of organized religion, and corporate vampires. To do this we use hip hop music, protest poetry, and grassroots campaigning as a means of awarenes raising. My poetry seeks to expose oppressive power structures in order to liberate us from the lies which surround us. I believe that its time that we face our past with our eyes open and start telling the truth about our history. As long as we keep peddling only one side of the human story by teaching our children that; religion has been civilising force; capitalism has rescued us from poverty; the fight for human rights is over and that we have equality, then we are ignoring the voices of all those free thinking, freedom loving individuals who have lost their lives at the hands of power hungry megalomaniacs under the guise of religion, capitalism, or whatever poisonous ideology they happen to be peddling. |
