| Introduction | Maura and Ryan Martin and their three young children (Honora, Clare and Patrick) are Lay Mission-Helpers (www.laymissionhelpers.org). This Catholic organization seeks to “walk with the poor of other countries sharing our gifts, living our faith, and learning from one another.” The Martins are serving the people of Cameroon, Africa by providing basic nursing care and instruction and social services for the next three years. We hope to share our experience and reflections with all those who have brought us here. We are grateful for the loving generosity of our family, friends and the wider community.
