| Introduction | I am a "midlife" mother of two children - an 11 year old boy with dyspraxia and a 5 year old girl. I was married for 13 years to a partner who was diagnosed with bipolar mood disorder. Due to unpredictable and sometimes violent behaviour, we separated in December 2006. I remarried in January 2009 to a semi-driver who hauls crude oil to various locations to be refined. We also have a dog named Skippy. Blending two families isn't always an easy process -- but it seems that there aren't too many dull moments! My son, Alisdair, is in Grade 6 and is being homeschooled (for the first time this year), while his sister, Isobel, is attending the local school for Kindergarten.
