Introduction Hi, my name is Rita. I started this blog because I truly believe I have a gift for money management. I think it's partly genetic. You see my mother came to the United States in 1954 from Naples, Italy. She married my dad, and we were very poor. But my mother had an amazing ability to stretch the dollar bill. My first job was at Burger Chef at age 14. I worked for $1.10 an hour and on Christmas vacation I worked 60 hours a week. I worked like a madman because my dad told me that he would match whatever I earned for my first car. I saved $500; he matched me $500. I bought my first car. A 1969 2-door Ford Fairlane, creme color, black top. I had great work ethics from the beginning. I was invaluable to my employers. And I think the most important part to this whole equation is that watching my money grow was more thrilling to me than spending it. Another valued trait is never be afraid to fail. Whether you realize it or not, you've learned something from the process! I want to thank my mother and dad for showing me how to be responsible. Now I hope that I can share my parents' wisdom with you and help you with your money management. Good luck and see you soon!
