Introduction My name's Jen, and I'm a bird nerd. This is my confession. I'm actually relatively new to the world of birding and bird photography. I grew up with a grandmother who LOVED birds, so I've always liked birds - always thought they were pretty and fun to watch. But I never really got excited about them. As for the photography aspect, I've always loved taking pictures, but birds were never a subject I was particularly interested in. Or at all, really. Just let me just say, bird photography is one of the hardest things I've ever tried to do. I kid you not. I was always more of a photographer of inanimate objects (landscapes, flowers, architecture, etc.), so to suddenly have a subject that's flitting around and can zip out of frame faster than you can blink was a huge adjustment. It's incredibly frustrating, but also incredibly rewarding when you get The Shot. To help fund my photographic endeavors, I work in internal communications for a large high-tech company. I enjoy spending time with the hubby and our four-legged barking daughter, I'm an avid reader, passionate traveler, and aspiring novelist.
