| Introduction | "Your caricature drawing has good expression" - "Most improved in figure drawing" - "Good sense of design - likeness is better than my own"!! All words of encouragement from past art teachers. My challenge was how to really believe it. I studied Fine Art and Design at Cornish College of the Arts where doors were opened to conceptual art in ways that I likely would have not imagined otherwise. I felt like I was still missing something in my creative life and started oil painting with an independent instructor, Ron Lukas. Years and years of start and stop was frustrating, but always felt I'd be painting again someday and hopefully everyday! I continued to paint when I could break through the other demands of life. Then one morning early 2012 something changed when I heard the words out of no where "paint two images for over the bed." It wasn't my voice and I was alone, but I sensed I should take it very seriously. I also paint for the love of it - but now whenever I wonder about my purpose I remember those words, wait and listen for any other instruction from that voice... |
