| Introduction | I am a mixed media painter living and working in Dublin. My work is inspired by urban life; many layers create a complex yet coherent whole. My painting-collages evolved from a fusion of influences including sculpture, painting, street art, advertising, comics, fashion and contemporary life. The items surgically attached are found on the street (obviously cleaned before use) or given to me, adding texture and contributing to the organised chaos. Pieces of text also play with meaning, from sugar sachets with Irish proverbs, and other paraphernalia. Psychogeography would be the term that inspires this kind of art. My work has been in many selected exhibitions in Ireland including the Royal Hibernian Academy 181st Annual, 'Manifest' Kinsale Arts Festival, 'Sustainable Futures' LCGA, RUA RED Arts Centre, Solas Art Gallery Leitrim, solo show in Birr Arts Centre and in Clifden, Galway, Westport Arts Festival and many other places. My work was shown abroad in Brooklyn, New York City, organised by FTLO. Original pieces have been bought by collectors at home and abroad. I am represented by The Copperhouse Gallery where Limited Edition Prints are available. |
