Introduction	My name is Jessica Whittington. I am a student at California State University Fullerton. I am a Sociology major. I attended Golden West Community college and graduated with my AA in Sociology. I plan to continue to pursue a Master’s in Social Work. My goal in life and my career is to work for nonprofit and/or healthcare at the administrative and face to face level. I want to work with mostly women and children to better the community. I am working as a drug and alcohol detox technician. I work in a female residential detox program, in Newport Beach. My main interest is in the effects of drugs and alcohol on the family unit. As a child of an alcoholic father, this is near to me. I believe this is one of the many reasons why I feel compelled to work with this population demographic. This blog is meant for anyone who wants to read it but, specifically for classes that require a blog. This blog will highlight multiple aspects of Sociology. I will use this for multiple courses and this blog will center around those courses. I will define any academic jargon that may be used, so that anyone that comes across this blog can easily digest the information.
