Introduction I am an aging (late) babyboomer with a wife, kids and a dog living in the countryside north of Harrisburg, PA. (Boring...) I work for the largest manufacturer of electronic components in the world at a data center now 8.5 miles from my home (nice short 15 minute commute - eat your hearts out Bay Area techheads...). I work with a team of software architects, but I started my career teaching Pascal and building database applications on Unix machines during the 80's. In between, I worked for big, medium and small companies doing software development, network design and implementation, web design, application design and overall systems architecture. Between college and the computer business, I worked at a Christian camp in Michigan as a carpenter and as the assistant manager for a couple years. I also worked in a college physics lab, maintaining laboratory equipment, teaching the occasional lab class and working with early microcontrollers. I met my wife in 1980, but it wasn't until 1989 that we married and settled down in Harrisburg. We have two kids, Sarah, born in 1993 and Luke born in 1996.

For your birthday, your aunt gave you a maple syrup dispenser shaped like a rooster. Please write her a thank-you note:

Nice try auntie -- I'm allergic to maple syrup. I just cut you out of the will.
