| Introduction | I'm a mom who loves children. I'm also the author of a cute little children's book called Engine Ed's Colorful Train. Both boys and girls love the story. Find it at http://www.EngineEd.com. I'm also the author of free interactive learning games for ages 3-13 that can be found on the same website. I volunteer hours of time at the local school, helping with fundraisers, etc. Currently, I am in the midst of partnering with the principal of the school to improve the quality of education they offer, especially to young boys. We are doing research on how delayed entry into kindergarten improves a child's chance of school success and we are researching ways to make education more child-friendly in the classroom and more fun for children in general. We are dedicated to helping children succeed in school and to making education a more rewarding, fulfilling experience. We are in the process of visiting schools that use teaching methods that are more interactive and forward thinking. We have surveyed every child in the school (K-8) for their input and opinions on what is boring and what is fun in the classroom. |
