| Introduction | I'm an aging backpacker. Not in the American sense, trudging off into the wilderness to live on rehydrated food and sleep on the ground. I'm a backpacker in the rest-of-the world sense, a low-budget long-term traveler. I've quit work several times to go traveling, once to work overseas, and the last time, in 2002, the job quit me. I'm now in Mexico, looking for a retirement home. Or at least that's my excuse. I've also spent time in India, Singapore, Ecuador, Peru, Thailand, and Malaysia. |
