Introduction	I’m a fashion designer with a background in many categories from gloves and outerwear to theatrical costume design. I choose to specialize in leather for my own business for several reasons; A) It imposes a boundary and a discipline, which provides a focus. B) I love working with it. Leather is like no other cloth. C) It challenges me and gives me a special niche. Fashion design, is like any good product design. It MUST take into account the customer, the budget, the usage, the materials, and the production abilities as well as the end use and utility of of the piece. Having happily designed in many categories, from costumes to gloves, I enjoy working in different mediums and I do take on freelance design jobs as well as commissions that are not leather based. I would love one day to head up design for a larger company.
