Interests (Sorry, no commas here!) Meredith attended L’Institut de Touraine (France) and the University of Georgia, where she graduated in 1992 with a BA in French. After teaching primary school French at Woodward Academy in Atlanta for several years, Meredith then moved to Rhinebeck, N.Y. where she taught primary and secondary school French at the Poughkeepsie Day School. Meredith also taught ESL (English as a Second Language) in Nitra, Slovakia and in Paris, France, while living in Paris off and on for several years. From 1997-2004, she attended graduate school in Linguistics (more specifically Sociolinguistics) at New York University. She started a tenure-track job in Sociolinguistics, ESL and Composition in the English department at Utica College in Utica, N.Y. in the fall of 2003, and received her Ph.D. from New York University in January of 2004. During this time, she also taught beginning French at Hamilton College. In 2005, she moved to the west coast, first teaching French at the Bush School in Seattle, then moving to Bellingham to teach at WWU. She is happy to have finally settled in one place!
