Introduction	Jared Day is a college professor who has been teaching 20th century US history at Carnegie Mellon University since 2004. He is the author or co-author of several books and numerous peer-reviewed articles dealing with many political, urban and environmental history and public policy topics. He is also on the editorial board of the Journal of Urban History.
