| Introduction | Christine Whittemore Scrips is the new name for this blog. New format: short (in theory!) posts, springing from something I've recently read. See SCRIPS: Introduction (below). For more about me and my writing, including a novel, Inscription, and a poetry collection, Sudden Arabesque, visit my website: http://www.christine-whittemore.net. Briefly, I grew up in England, lived 5 years in Italy, nearly 27 in the US. Then 3 in France. I am now mostly based back in Gloucestershire. This blog began when I arrived in France in 2011. In the US, where I worked as a writer (in a hybrid of American and British English!), my once fairly fluent Italian and French had slipped into a box-room of my brain. In Just a Mot I had fun with my rediscovery of the French language. When I returned to the UK (and my native tongue!), the blog shifted to being about books, writing, and reading, as it still is, but under the new name Scrips. Thanks for being here! |
