IntroductionMentone Public Library is an independent library service. Since day one, the library has been completely staffed by volunteers. The library is entirely dedicated to book-lending and discussion, promoting local authors and community events. The library was established in 1925 and today stands as the longest-surviving community library service in the City of Kingston in Melbourne Australia. Books can be borrowed for up to three weeks for a cost of less than a dollar per book. Our home is humble but our literary heart is a panorama!
InterestsPromoting our local literary talent and local history via quality literary events to the local community in a friendly, personable setting.
Favorite booksWe have many favourite books to recommend to you, especially from our local author collection!

All of the phone numbers have fallen out of your address book. Whose number do you look for first and why?

I would look for Mentone Public Library's phone number before anything else: 03 9005 6300. WHY? To ask the following questions... 1) WHAT ARE YOUR OPERATING TIMES? A) 10am-12pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday 2) How much does it cost to join? A) AU $5 = Half Year / AU $10 = Full Year 3) Are there charges to borrow a book? A) Yes, fees range from 10 to 60 cents per book
